I’m addicted to this korean tv-drama.i usually wake at 10.30-11am but because of temptation of wife, nagpapa alarm pko pra mkapanood lng.hahaha! Synopsis

This drama is based loosely on the 18th Century French novel “Les Liaisons dangereuses” by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos.

The series depicts rich young men and women in their twenties who discover true love while playing the dangerous game of love.

Kwon Shi Hyun (Woo Do Hwan) bets his life on a dangerous game to seduce Eun Tae Hee (Joy). His target is 20-years-old and believes people that are swayed by love are pathetic. After Eun Tae Hee meets Kwon Shi Hyun, her view on love changes.

    32 ep with Joy as the lead? no, thank you. i’ll pass this one for sure. Do Hwan is amazing, but i wish they hired a skilled actress to play the lead. the second female lead looks more promising than Joy!!! this drama will certainly have a terrible plot, terrible acting by Joy especially it’s a long drama. however, just for the fact that she’s an idol, the drama will be popular. this drama looks more like Heirs where the cast was full of A-star actors and actresses, yet it was a disaster plot and directing wise.

    #4 @Tiffany — If it is anything like the book or the 1988 movie “Dangerous Liaisons” brace yourself, your morality is about to be assaulted. . . lol! As this is kdrama-land it probably won’t be so brutal.

    The original story involves two women, one a young virgin the other pious and deeply religious and a cad who in a bet with a socialite set about to corrupt the women. However, most unexpectedly his conscience got the better of him and the socialite, in the end was forced to face public ridicule.

    That’s a short outline of the original. You can probably find a full synopsis on wikipedia.

    Just remembered, I ever watch hollywood movie “Cruel Intentions” staring by resse witherspoon and sarah michele gellar. This movie was also based from novel Les liaisons dengereuses.

    It seems the great seducer have the same plot with ‘cruel intentions’ (1999) with ending death of its main role

    #22 DeeAnn — “Cruel Intentions” is probably closer to this drama than the 1988 movie in which the setting was the period depicted in the book, as well, the characters were the same as in the book.

    In “Cruel Intentions” the Marquise de Merteuil was played by Sarah Michelle-Gellar. In this drama, she is Choi Soo Ji (Moon Ga Young).

    If the drama stays with the plot in the book, the game she initiates out of spite will cost the lives if the players.

    Someone remarked on a forum that while there were no sex scenes so far, the drama is implicitly erotic. The actors are beautiful and are filmed in a way that highlights their sex appeal. Lol!

    directing and editing sucks! This is a character based drama but there are too little closeups and they are flashed by too fast. The audiences need to know every micro expression that the characters make in order to get attached to this type of story. Specially on woo do hwan

    After Lead actor Woo Do Hwan kissed that weird old model in the club which everyone claimed she is beautiful except me, I lost interest in watching this drama. Why producer let him do this??? Is it necessary. It seems to me he got no character at all. Not like Mad dog – which he is sexy and in control….

    More disappointed after knowing that lead actress is not Moon Ga Young as Choi Soo Ji (I prefer Moon because she is more beautiful and likeable).

    I will put on hold and see who ends up with Woo Do Hwan. If it is Joy, then I will not watch. 🙁

    I know about the drama because I quite like Red Velvet and Joy. I have not watched the drama yet, but it seems she needs to practice more and choose a role which is more suitable to her real character, such as a smiley younger sister. 32 episodes is too much, I only watched less than or equal 20 eps drama.

I dont know why the others didn’t like the lead actress well in fact she impressive in her role unlike the other who are terrible in acting. I Iove their chemistry and cant wait for next episode!     Poor do hwan, he even very tempting in his previous action drama “Mad dog”, “the great seducer” ruins him, made him falling to the lower level. Hoping next, he more wisely to accept the role and script.

    I LOVE this drama. I’m watching all the way from Atlanta, GA in the USA. It was hard for me to find out how to watch online but once I did, I was hooked. The two leads are fantastic and have great chemistry. I love the story line, just wish there was less of the parents. I don’t understand why the ratings are so low and I hope the series continues to the end because I want to know what happens next!

    As I see it, Soo Ji’s problem is one of entitlement, resentment and bitterness, a trifecta guaranteed to keep “love” away. She feels if Shi Hyun is to love at all, his love can only to be for her.

    However, Eun Tae Hee’s sincerity and honesty won over Shi Hyun. I guess the object lesson is; be honest always and try to always do good. And don’t mess around with people’s loves.

    I think the low ratings of GS have to do with the story that has no appeal for Korean public as has for western viewers since is inspired by a western book. Unfortunately the script is flawed, without consistency and that is reflected in the characters of this drama. I think the lead young actors do their best in portraying their characters but they cannot do wonders with a weak and confused storyline. Anyways I believe they are really talented and have big potential.

    On the whole it is not a bad drama. It’s about rich youngsters and apart from being hurt they felt better if they hurt another person. It is somehow a good lesson to all. The main actress is cute , pretty and she’s good in her act, and the main actor though I had never watch any of his drama he acts pretty well too.
    The ending is a bit too rush and wish it was more detailed . Anyway thank you for putting up this good drama and it’s story that teach everyone a lesson

    Maybe actually the story was good. But in my opinion, the male and female lead actors didn’t have a good chemistry after all+at any scenes they didn’t have a good expression/emotion. Perhaps its because the actors in this kdramas still newcomers. WDW a.k.a the male lead actor, I only watched his drama once, that was Sweet Stranger and Me, he have a good talent then. I think KMJ a.k.a the second lead male actor have better acting in the other dramas, lets say Romantic Doctor Kim and Best Hit, maybe its just because he was second not the lead. Also MGY actress, I have seen her in the other dramas, I think this is the best acting she ever performed and better than the female lead actress in this drama. Till the last episodes, there was conflict on, one thing I couldn’t expect from any kdramas I have been watched. Sorry to say that I have only got one point from this drama, that was a group of rich chaebol take a revenge for fun and receive the aftereffects. However the story based on the french novel I never read it before. Anyway, the OSTs especially the instrumental songs that really nice to listen. I wished the actors have another good dramas to watch.
